Tacloban City Utilizes Donated Buses to Ferry Stranded Residents Due to Bagyong Urduja

Presidential Assistant for the Visayas Mike Dino hails the Ceres bus donations from Vallacar Transit which were utilized by the local government of Tacloban City to ferry stranded residents who were affected by Bagyong Urduja.


According to PA Mike Dino, Ceres buses from Vallacar Transit saw action in Tacloban City, as Typhoon Urduja strikes the country.

Just last Sunday, six (6) Ceres buses were turned over to the Tacloban Local Government Unit (LGU) from Vallacar Transit.

Presidential Assistant Mike Dino, the first who requested for free use of the Ceres buses to transport Yolanda victims from their new homes in Tacloban north to their schools and workplaces in city proper, witness the turnover ceremony.


The Tacloban LGU also declared a state of calamity as tropical storm "Urduja," with international name Kai-Tak, continued to pummel Eastern Visayas with ample and strong winds.

Tacloban’s Sangguniang Panglungsod signed Resolution No. 319 declaring a state of calamity over the city due to severe flooding and landslides caused by tropical storm “Urduja,”

As of 10:00 PM December 15, 2017, PAGASA reported that the center of Tropical Storm "URDUJA" was estimated based on all available data at 240 km East of Borongan City, Eastern Samar (11.8 °N, 127.6 °E).
